The cycles in my life always bring me back to this need to create space.
Creative space. Breathing space. Personal space.
As a mother who also works with kids and runs my own yoga business, there leaves little room for me. I spend most of my time and energy thinking about others, and how best to care for them.
Yoga has saved me over and over again. The philosophies that are the basis of my teachings constantly come back to remind me of the peace within the chaos.
As I plot and plan for the months ahead, I see my schedule getting tighter and tighter. Less space for myself. This is when I re-assess.
Today has been a peaceful Sunday morning. The time has passed slowly today, and I’ve enjoyed my coffee, time with my son, and found inspiration to write. Found inspiration to reflect on what I love about life, and what is important to me. Time with my family. Space to create. Solitude with myself.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by life, I seriously suggest taking a day for yourself to retreat, reassess and re-create. Go for a walk, get some fresh air, paint a picture, write a poem, take a yoga class, meditate or do something that soothes your soul and gives you energy. The more you give to yourself, the more you have to share with others.
A Journey Through Self-Care is a newly created workshop that I designed due to my own struggle with finding balance. If this is something that you are interested in please contact me directly for details.
Peace to you!
My Sunday was also spent taking a break, quietly re-assessing my upcoming busy schedule. Thanks for sharing.
