Travel Agent Christine Hodge writes about travel and wellness…
I am a licensed travel professional, who has transformed my love of travel into a productive, and satisfying career.
My client list is very diverse: I’ve booked trips for solo travellers, families and groups, and I love finding itineraries that are truly “off the beaten path”. A good conversation is the beginning of meaningful understanding of aspirations and goals.
Today’s travel experience is more complex than it has ever been, with constantly changing visa and documentation requirements, as well as a multitude of global forces that seem to change daily. Working with an experienced vacation consultant means your questions get answered by someone you know. Your travel goals and style truly matter. I’m only ever an email or direct phone call away. When things get complicated, being able to talk to a real person genuinely matters!
Another key reason for working with a travel professional is we get advanced notice of sales, promotions and special offers before they are published, so that means we can plan our clients’ travel for their best value, and highest availability.
I have personally taken five cruise lines now, and have experienced what companies have to offer their guests. I’ve visited over a dozen Caribbean islands! I’ve travelled to Ireland numerous times with family, and have also been to England and France. My wish list currently says one thing: Italy!
I am certified through programmes with Holland America, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Princess cruises. I am also in the process of completing the second level of an Autism Travel certification. Although not a requirement, it has taught me a great deal about autism itself, and also how to approach travellers with a variety of challenges, including dementia.
Covid created an unexpected benefit, in that it reminded people that time is a luxury. The search for authentic experience, cultural understanding, and seeing the beauty in our world matters more than ever.
