Origin Story | How “The Gentle Way of Hatha” Came To Be…

It all began with “Guru Heart Yoga” in 2004 (watch the video to hear more about that!)…

In 2006 this transitioned into my expanded studio space “Crescent Moon Healing Arts” in downtown Port Hope. We became a hub of health, art, and fun! Classes, therapists, workshops, art, music, and live events frequented this community minded location. This is where I also introduced my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training “The Gentle Way of Hatha.”

In 2010 when the doors closed on “Crescent Moon” (within those years we became a co-op called “The Well” and later included “Burke’s Book Nook”) I moved out west, spending just a few months in Gibson, B.C. Pregnant, it wasn’t long before I returned to Northumberland County to rebuild my yoga teaching career, and I decided to officially call my business “The Gentle Way of Hatha” and it’s been that way ever since.

Needless to say, twenty-one years in and I would say this is my life-calling: teaching gentle yoga classes. Recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia has in fact, forced me to keep things gentle and manageable, not just in yoga but in life!

Be sure to watch the YouTube video to learn more about my 20+ year yoga journey.

If you’re interested in trying a class, there is always space online! Friday’s at 10am (Toronto/Ontario time). Shoot me an email (gentle_hatha@live.com) and we can get you signed up to receive the zoom link!
