It is hard to believe a New Year is upon us…
This is my favourite time of year, between winter solstice and spring equinox. The magic of the winter season seems to surge through me; this is my most creative time artistically, and a time when I especially enjoy teaching gentle yoga classes because the theme of winter is truly “hibernation.” Time to rest, recluse, and refill for the re-birth spring brings. The style of yoga I teach is completely aligned to the winter season…
In 2024 I will have 4 weekly classes:
- Tuesdays in Port Hope at 10:30am
- Tuesdays online at 6:30pm
- Wednesdays in Port Hope at 6:30pm
- Thursdays in Port Hope at 11:30am
If you are feeling called to a more spiritually-lead yoga experience, I encourage you to give our classes a try. You can find more info here: Yoga Schedule. All classes are beginner friendly, with an emphasis on stress-relief and relaxation. We explore all the layers of the body (physical, mental, emotional, and energetic) and we aim for wellness (vs. fitness) and wholeness (vs. division). This means we work with our body as it is, without criticizing or trying to “fix” it in a harsh way. Instead, we move gently with awareness and compassion, and enjoy the meditative experience yoga can offer without unrealistic physical expectations. We learn to trust our bodies again, by listening to what it is telling us.
I do hope you’ll consider joining us. You can read what other students think here: Testimonials. Or email me, Jenni, with any questions at gentle_hatha@live.com.
