Yoga replenishes. It is a healing art. It helps us regulate.
The main purpose of The Gentle Way of Hatha, was to create a type of class that emphasizes this replenishment: through breath, rest, and relaxation.
Our classes are gentle, meditative, and perfect for beginners. We move through a very structured routine in each class that we build upon, modify, and explore daily. I designed classes this way for a very specific reason: ease. So students can adapt, and play, and feel safe in their body and our space. This is how we regulate and grow trust in ourselves.
These are not fitness classes. You will benefit from these classes if you are looking for stress-relief, if you’re burned out or frazzled, or just need an hour to yourself to “regroup.” We study body awareness, the activity of the mind, and how they influence each other. We learn the difference between resistance and tension, and how to work with our body as it is. Our yoga practice embodies all the layers of the human experience: physical, mental, emotional, and energetic. If you are feeling fragmented or scattered, these classes call back all those parts of us so we can return to a sense of wholeness.
I do hope you’ll give yourself one hour a week to try a class with us, to be open to receiving deep replenishment, the gift of yoga.
